13,000+ public DC fast chargers across the US — Tesla, Electrify America, EVgo, ChargePoint, IONNA, Rivian and more (from the US DOE database) — matched against the restaurants and stores within a 10-minute walk, so you can plan a stop around what you'll actually do while the car charges.
Map style: Esri by default, which needs no account. CARTO's basemap looks better but now requires an API key for this site — without one it stamps "API key required" across every tile, so only pick it if you have a key configured.

Search for anything: tap the search box to see examples. The 90 chains below are precomputed and instant, but you can also search a category or a brand we don't track — "bank", "tire shop", "pharmacy", "gym", "Chase", "GameStop". Those are looked up live from OpenStreetMap for the area you're viewing, so pick an area first and give it a few seconds. Precomputing every brand isn't possible: it would add roughly 1.6 MB to the download for a few hundred more.

Chargers are colour-coded by network on the map (Tesla coral, ChargePoint amber, Electrify America green, EVgo teal…) — deliberately no red, because a red map pin reads as "out of service" when in fact every stop here is a live charger. We drop listings whose reported power is under 24 kW, heavy-truck-only depots, duplicates and anything marked private or non-public, and we flag dealership lots because access and hours are often restricted. A few stations report no power figure at all; we keep those and simply leave the kW blank rather than guess.
Basemap tiles come from Esri. Charger data from the US DOE / NREL Alternative Fuel Stations database; chain locations from OpenStreetMap. Walk times are straight-line estimates at ~3 mph and charge times are rough estimates — always verify before relying on them. Coverage and pricing come from public data and can be out of date.
Isolated stops: surveys consistently find most EV drivers will detour for a charger that isn't in an empty, unlit lot. We flag stops with nothing we track within a 10-minute walk so you can judge — it's a proxy from our own data, not a safety rating.
What the wait is good for: when you've set your car we compare the estimated charge time to what's actually within a walk — a sit-down place needs about 45 minutes, a quick meal 20, a coffee 10 — and count the walk in both directions. So a 48-minute charge with an IHOP six minutes away is called a quick meal, not a sit-down one. Rough guidance, not a reservation.
Compatibility notes: "needs adapter" means your car can physically connect with a common adapter — for Tesla Superchargers your car's brand must also be allowed on that site (check the Tesla app). Charge times are rough 10–80% estimates; walk times are minimums based on straight-line distance.
